Gusti Enda is accustomed to playing many roles as a multidisciplinary artist, curator and cultural practitioner living and working in Jakarta and Pontianak, West Kalimantan. He dedicates himself to the process of knowledge and art production in developing infrastructure to support the advancement and sustainability of ideas in Pontianak with the collectives Susur Galur and Gudskul Ekosistem, Jakarta.
His journey has been shaped by the stark disparities in access to educational resources, stemming from the centralization policies of the past. This drives him to bridge the gap between the periphery and the center.
Enda’s artistic practice is conducted individually as well as working collectively through visual experimentation in various art mediums such as; installation, object, video, and digital print.
Despite having no formal educational background in the traditional sense, his extensive knowledge, experience and artistic practice have been instrumental in his independent endeavors. In his artistic practice, Enda often tries to experiment in creating interaction, collaboration and participation between art and socio-cultural context.
